Hi, my name is Dude.

I’m an Autism Service Dog and proud companion to my best friend, Alexandra Adlawan.

Over 10 years ago, I met Alexandra just as she was beginning her journey as a children’s book author and illustrator. Together, we’ve shared countless adventures—not just in the pages of her books, but in real life too. I’ve been by her side through every book signing, classroom visit, and conference across California.

Alexandra is the creator of The Adventures of Maddie and Albert, a powerful children’s book series that celebrates imagination, inclusion, and the beauty of being different. My role? Helping her stay calm and confident in crowded spaces, especially when interacting with groups of children and adults. I’ve watched her grow into an incredible public speaker and advocate—and I like to think I’ve played a small part in that growth.

Now, I’m 11 years old. I’m still active, but it’s time for me to retire and let a new service dog step in to support Alexandra as she continues her mission to inspire children everywhere.
