Hi, my name is Alexander Smith, and on September 28th my life changed in an instant. Around 3 PM, while driving my 2019 Hyundai Sonata Sport, my brakes suddenly failed and the engine caught fire. Within moments, my entire car was engulfed in flames, thankfully I was able to dive roll out of the car while moving on the side of the highway, ended up breaking my leg, ankle, and dislocating the bone with road rash as well. I was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, and while I am grateful to be alive, I am now facing a very difficult road ahead.

The car is a total loss, and I still had two years left on the loan. This vehicle was not just transportation—it was how I worked every day to support myself while finishing up my degree. Losing it means I currently have no way to earn income or go back and forth. On top of that, I’m now dealing with medical bills and the costs of recovery.

Insurance and legal options are being pursued, but those take time, and my immediate needs cannot wait. I’m raising funds to cover:

• Temporary transportation so I can continue working

• Medical expenses and recovery needs

• Living expenses while I wait for insurance to process
