Last night, my son Alexander was the victim of a violent attack while riding his bike on the San Francisquito Trail. He and a friend were simply enjoying an evening ride when a grown man, startled by their presence, began to pursue them. As Alexander stopped to clear a twig from his spokes, the man ambushed him from behind—slamming him to the ground, punching him, breaking his helmet, damaging his bike, and stealing his keys. Thankfully, a few kind strangers came to his aid after the attacker fled, and I am deeply grateful for their support.
Physically, Alexander will recover, but the emotional toll has been significant. He is now anxious about riding and may need counseling to help him process what happened. The bike meant the world to him—he spent hours doing curb painting and cleaning neighbors’ trash bins to save up for it, and it’s the most expensive thing he’s ever owned. He also did all the upgrades and repairs himself, making it a true labor of love.
We are asking for the public’s help in finding the attacker and for support as Alexander rebuilds. Donations will go toward replacing or repairing his bike and helping with any counseling he may need. Please share this fundraiser and help us keep our community safe while supporting Alexander’s recovery.
