Help Alexander overcome his battle with lung cancer

Hello kind human! My name is Chiara and I created this fundraiser to help my fiancé gain access to further treatment options during his courageous battle with lung cancer. Alexander and I met in 2021 and fell madly in love. He has been in sports all throughout his life, he loves being outdoors whether in nature or hiking. He’s amazing with a camera in his hands or sports equipment. The person I fell in love with loves everything about being outside and this news was a sudden shock.

Our world turned upside down when he fell ill earlier this year. After performing diagnostic tests, the results shockingly came back as lung cancer. How can this be possible? So many thoughts ran through our minds. He was only 27 at that time. My best friend has never smoked, led a healthy active life, and never engaged in any factors that would've contributed to this diagnosis. This felt like a nightmare. This can't be happening... but unfortunately, how horrible cancer is, it does not discriminate to anyone with lungs. We were completely broken and devastated by the diagnosis, to say the least, but ready to attack the plan of treatment and kick cancer in the butt. He was instructed to start chemotherapy and radiation ASAP. After 3 rounds of aggressive treatment, we received the unexpected, discouraging news that the cancer has spread to his regional lymph nodes. It had gotten worse. Alex is now facing stage 3 lung cancer.

It was at that point, when his body was not responding positively to the standard conventional treatment options, we realized we needed help. The funds raised through your incredible generosity will be used to provide access to extensive and more advanced treatment options for lung cancer patients, like Alex, that are unfortunately very expensive and not always readably available in Montreal.

I have never met anyone as special and amazing as Alex, he is the definition of resilient, courageous, brave, kind- hearted, genuine, considerate and loving... just to name a few of my favorite qualities about him. He is the best partner I could ever ask for and despite facing all these challenges that come along with the diagnosis, his beauty and strength radiates every second of the day and night. Most of all, he deserves a fighting chance to overcome his battle with cancer, and experience all of life's beautiful moments together.

We are eternally grateful for any contribution, as it will be one step closer to finding the correct treatment to save Alex's life.
