Help Support Alexander in His Fight Against Biliary Atresia

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help and support for our precious baby boy, Alexander, who has been diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare and life-threatening condition that affects the liver and bile ducts. This condition prevents the bile from draining from the liver, causing liver damage and severe health complications if not treated quickly.

Alexander was born on December 6, 2024, and during the pregnancy, he seemed to be a healthy baby. However, once he was born, the family noticed signs of jaundice, difficulty eating, and overall fussiness. Following multiple visits to the ER and many appointments with specialists, doctors confirmed the diagnosis of biliary atresia. His condition requires immediate medical intervention, including surgery and ongoing medical care.

Unfortunately, the road ahead will not be easy. Alexander has already undergone the Kasai procedure to attempt to restore bile flow; however, this has only a 50% rate of success, and he will eventually need a liver transplant when he is healthy enough to tolerate a major surgery. In his short life, he has spent more time in the hospital receiving treatment than he has spent at home with his family.

The medical bills, surgeries, hospital stays, medications, and ongoing treatments have and will continue to place a heavy financial burden on Alexander’s family. We desperately want Alexander’s mother to be able to be with him during his hospital stays and enjoy every day with her new baby boy while he fights this life-threatening condition.
