Hi, I'm Alexa Purcell, a Political Science student at Dalhousie University from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia. I have been honoured with an incredible opportunity to attend the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) World Congress in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa — one of the largest gatherings of young political scientists from around the world.
I will be presenting my research paper titled "Political Alienation and 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth in Nova Scotia: Navigating Inclusion, Exclusion, and Alternative Political Futures." This work explores important issues facing marginalized youth in my province and seeks to contribute to conversations about inclusion and political engagement.
Attending this conference is a chance for me to engage with global perspectives, share my research, and learn from experts and peers passionate about politics and public policy. It will help me develop the skills and networks necessary to pursue my long-term career goals in law and public policy, with the hope of making a positive impact in Nova Scotia and beyond.
That's why I'm reaching out to my community, friends, and supporters for help. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to making this dream a reality. Your support is not just funding a trip, but investing in the future of a young scholar committed to leadership, learning, and service.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me! I look forward to sharing my experiences and insights with you all!
