Hi! My name is Katie, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my brother, Alex.

Alex has two cracked teeth, and we could really use some help gathering funds to get him to a dentist’s office. They cause him intense pain, and are also at risk of getting infected. An infection could lead to even more serious health concerns, and our primary goal is to get these teeth taken care of as soon as we can. Alex does not have insurance, so our only option is to pay out of pocket.

In the midst of this, the GPU on Alex’s computer died after 10 years of faithful service. The rest of his PC is either that age or older. Alex uses his computer for a lot of his day-to-day life, but also to follow his creative passions and volunteer for events benefiting organizations like Blessing in a Backpack. After his teeth are taken care of, any additional funds will be put towards getting him a newer, reliable computer.

Our initial goal of $1,000 is to cover what would be the possible maximum price for extracting the teeth, which we believe will be the likely recommended procedure, plus medications and other associated costs that may come up. Any money left over, or collected above that amount, will be put towards a new computer. We may update the goal later once his teeth are taken care of to reflect the remaining costs for a computer.

On a personal note, I want to deeply thank all of you who have taken an interest in this fundraiser, and in helping my brother. If you know Alex, you probably know how hard it is for him to ask for help like this. He is a supportive, compassionate friend, and I promise an even better brother, but struggles with the idea of putting anyone out. When he made the decision to ask for help, I don’t think he knew just how many people care about him or how much. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the support we’ve already received, and any you are able to provide. It means so much to Alex, and it does to me, too.
