On August 27th, 2021, Alex was hospitalized with severe Covid pneumonia. In the course of months, his lungs collapsed, he received 3 chest tubes, and has had severe scar tissue on his lungs. Because of this, he is now being considered for a lung transplant. He has since been able to come home but remains on oxygen. Currently he uses a heavy and bulky oxygen tank that makes it difficult for him to be mobile. He is in need of Inogen Oxygen Unit that is not covered by his insurance to help with mobility, healing and normalcy. At this time we do not have answers as to whether he will have no other option but to receive a lung transplant, but we are not giving up that his lungs will slowly heal.
