Help Alex & Kilo Secure a Stable Home

hey friends!

i'm looking for support in securing stable housing for my dog & myself after a year of homelessness. i am queer/trans & indigenous, an educator and astrologer. this year of exile has become a pilgrimage of sorts, but all pilgrimages must come to an end. all roads lead home.

the story:

in february 2024, i was teaching high school in olympia when a group of students began sexually harassing me, targeting me as a transgender person. the students harassed me in class while i was teaching and throughout the school wherever they saw me. the plan from my admin was for me to continue to work, receive the abuse, and document it to add to the civil rights claim.

as a trans person living with C-PTSD and a history of suicidality, i could not sit with the abuse. i took PTO as long as i could, in good faith that my administrators would remove the students from my classes. this did not occur, and i was forced to separate from my employment in order to pull my retirement funds to survive.

i found another paying gig, adjuncting for community colleges, but not in time to save my housing. i became homeless in may 2024.

i spent the summer of 2024 living in my car in the pacific northwest. fall of 2024 i spent in short-term sublets in olympia and portland. by the time the winter set in, i could see no option other than to leave my beloved pnw.

i have been transient since then, on a pilgrimage to religious sites across turtle island. astrology has been sustaining me, putting gas in the tank and food in the belly.

this journey has been hard. i have learned so much about myself, about the world around me, about my community. i have relied on my friends and network throughout turtle island to sustain me.

& i ask for your support once more.

with saturn's ingress into aries, i was offered a teaching position at a dream school back home in washington. i will be salaried again, with health insurance and a lanyard and everything (the lanyard is most important tbh).

with this position, i will finally have a stable enough income to sustain a lease. all that's left is the funds to move into a place, so here is the ask: funds for first & last & a security deposit so that i can be safely and securely housed again.

i need help overcoming this final hurdle, so that i can start this new chapter of my life with a stable foundation.
