Hi! If you’re here, you probably know me, but in case you don’t, here’s my story. I grew up playing sports, running, jumping, skipping, and dancing. Being able to move my body any way I wanted to.
In 2018 I was snowboarding and sustained an injury called a Pilon fracture. It’s a really bad ankle fracture involving the cartilage. I thought it was just another broken ankle (I’ve had 3) but little did I know the roller coaster this would take me on.
5 years and 6 surgeries later, I’m still suffering and in pain nearly every day. In 2022 I had a surgery to regenerate the cartilage but even if that works I will never be able to run again. That’s where you come in. Last year I discovered an ankle orthosis called the EXOSYM, made for people just like me with debilitating lower limb injuries. There’s only one catch, it costs over $9000. Luckily I only need one!
Between the cost of living, being a part time student and only working part time, that kind of spare cash is pretty hard to come by.
If you are able to donate anything, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read through this all.
