Help Me Relocate to a Safe, Healthy Home
Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
I'm reaching out during one of the most difficult seasons of my life, and while it's not easy for me to ask for help, l've come to a point where I can't do this alone.
This past year has been filled with overwhelming challenges--from multiple home floods to serious health concerns, emotional upheaval, and financial strain. Last August, my home flooded multiple times in just two days due to a burst pipe. Not only were many of my personal belongings destroyed, but just weeks later, black mold was discovered in six areas of my home. This led to ongoing respiratory issues and a sinus infection that took me a long time to recover from. I had to evacuate my home with my three dogs and a few belongings, living in an Airbnb for two months while dealing with mold remediation, the end of a 3.5-year relationship, and a major career change-all at once.
I worked hard to rebuild. I moved back in last November, trying to regain a sense of normalcy. But just three weeks ago, my home flooded again- four times in 24 hours-and the stress, health risk, and instability have become too much to bear. Given my history with respiratory issues (including childhood pneumonia), mold exposure poses a serious threat to my health. I've made the difficult but necessary decision to relocate to a safer, cleaner environment.
I've found a new home where I can start fresh in early July--but moving comes with costs I simply can't manage on my own.
I've been working three jobs to stay afloat, but the emotional, physical, and financial toll has been immense. I'm exhausted and trying my best--for myself and my dogs-but I need help to take this next step toward stability and healing.
If you're able to contribute, even a little, it would mean the world to me. Every donation will go directly toward moving expenses, deposits, and getting re-established in a healthier, safer space. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and support. Whether you're able to donate or simply share my story, I am deeply grateful and I look forward to sharing the rest of my journey with you.
With love and hope,
Alex
