A year ago, what was supposed to be a routine gallbladder surgery changed our lives forever. Due to severe complications, Alex suffered from sepsis and was placed in a medically induced coma for seven days. Those were the longest days of our lives, watching him fight for his survival.

Although the doctors managed to save him, the severity of the infection made it impossible for them to close his abdominal muscles. Since then, Alex has been living in an extremely difficult physical condition, facing challenges that no one should ever have to endure.

Today, medical professionals have given us a beacon of hope: a complex abdominal reconstruction surgery. This operation is Alex’s only chance to regain his health, leave the pain behind, and return to being the father and support that his son and wife so desperately need.

Unfortunately, we do not have health insurance or the resources to cover the total cost of the surgery, pre-operative treatments, and rehabilitation therapies.

Hace un año, lo que debía ser una cirugía de vesícula de rutina cambió nuestras vidas para siempre. Debido a complicaciones graves, Alex sufrió una sepsis que lo mantuvo en coma inducido durante 7 días. Fueron los días más largos de nuestras vidas, viendo cómo luchaba por sobrevivir.
