Help Alex Overcome Injustice and Illness
Donation protected
On Saturday, June 1, 2024, around 8pm, Alex was walking home from 7-11, where he was simply buying bandaids for his girlfriend. As Alex was crossing the street, a police officer who had been conducting another traffic stop in the area, waved him down for jaywalking and told Alex to put his hands on the vehicle so they could search him. This resulted in three police officers on top of him and punching him while he was on the ground with his hands behind his back. There were multiple witnesses who filmed the incident from different angles. He was arrested and taken to the hospital, and eventually jail that night.
I want to mention that Alex is a diabetic who wears a Dexcom sensor on his abdomen that aids in monitoring his blood sugar. The police officers ripped out his Dexcom in the process of searching him. He did not have access to insulin while in jail, until around 3pm Sunday.
This GoFundMe was created to ask for anyone who is able to donate to assist with Alex’s legal defense at this time. As well as to ensure he is able to continue getting the diabetic medication he needs while he’s recovering and going to doctor’s appointments for his injuries. Any amount can help, thank you!
