Hi, my name is Sofia, and I started this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister Ruth and her husband, Alex Krishchuk. Last year, Alex was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his lower abdomen and underwent chemotherapy to shrink the tumor. On March 21, 2025, Alex underwent an intensive 6-hour surgery, which included Cytoreductive surgery, Radio-frequency Ablation (RFA), and Microwave Ablation, to remove the tumor and any remaining cancer.

While the surgery was successful, it is just one step in Alex’s recovery journey. He will need several months to heal and will continue chemotherapy to ensure he’s completely cancer-free. Although insurance covers a portion of the surgery, the remaining medical bills are substantial. Additionally, Alex will not be able to return to work for several months, which will place further financial strain on them.
