Help My Cousin Alex Nica Fight Brain Cancer
Alex is a devoted husband and the father of two teenage children. Since May of last year, his life — and the lives of everyone who loves him — changed forever. At just 45 years old, he was diagnosed with Grade IV glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive and devastating forms of brain cancer. It is a diagnosis that gives no time to prepare, no space to breathe, and no certainty about tomorrow.
Since then, Alex has faced every challenge with extraordinary courage. He underwent brain surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy in his home country, Romania, doing everything medicine could offer. Despite these treatments and months of hope and determination, the tumor has returned. Recent MRI scans confirmed recurrence, and his medical team has recommended urgent intervention.
Today, only one real option remains — a highly specialized treatment in Houston, USA. Alex is scheduled to undergo a craniotomy with GammaTile implantation, an advanced form of targeted internal radiation therapy designed for recurrent brain tumors. This innovative procedure offers new hope, but it is available only in a limited number of specialized centers worldwide. Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by the Romanian public healthcare system, and the costs are overwhelming for our family to carry alone.
We are reaching out with humility and hope, asking for your support during this critical moment. Any contribution — no matter how small — truly makes a difference and helps give Alex a fighting chance to continue being the husband and father his family needs. Full medical documentation is available upon request. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with Alex and for being part of this community of hope.
