Help Alex Lorentz Heal After Severe Accident
Donation protected
As some of you may already know and for those who do not, my good friend/roommate Alex Lorentz has recently been in a very horrible motorcycle accident leaving him in critical condition.
He is currently held in ICU with chest tubes and breathing tubes in place. Alex has broken 13 bones in his spine, and nearly all his facial bones and 1 in his forearm. He also has a collapsed lung. He had forearm surgery today 4/17 and it went well. Spinal surgery is scheduled for 4/18 and facial reconstruction next week after some swelling goes down. The good new is there was NO brain trauma and he is likely to recover with lots of time and therapy. He will remain in the hospital for quite a while and we are unsure of when he will be completely stable.
His mom Laurie has flown down to Florida and is staying with me while we wait for updates and he goes in and out of treatment/surgery. She is paying hefty expenses for a rental car and gas as she has to drive back and forth daily from the next county over due to a hospital transfer that resulted from needing a specialist team to work on his facial bones. We are asking for any donations that can help cover expenses while she is here. As well as medical bills/expenses that will be coming his family's way, due to the many surgeries he will be undergoing. And other expenses that come along with it. Including his ambulance ride, hospital transfer, hospital stay, etc.
This will be a long road to recovery for Alex so most importantly we ask that you keep him and his family in your thought and prayers. Please consider donations and if you have more questions feel free to reach out to myself. -Hannah C
