Help Alex, John, and Family After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Alex Yun and John Ford’s home was completely destroyed in the Eaton Fire. Alex's parents and John’s parents also lost their homes in the fire, and Alex and John are caring for them, in addition to their two children and two cats.
Their home housed Alex’s art studio, where she hand-carved intricate designs in linoleum blocks that created beautiful block prints and cards. Alex, an ArtCenter alum, also produced elaborately-detailed, brilliant works in pencil, ink and paints.
John is multifaceted; expert in woodworking, figure painting, CNC milling, experience design, virtual reality, furniture design, etc. His genius furniture work has been displayed at the Milan Furniture Fair, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York and the Internationalen Möbelmesse in Cologne. His design studio and innovative, handcrafted furniture collection was lost in the fire.
Alex and John are an incredibly hardworking, wonderful couple who impress me every day with their straightforwardness, authenticity, humility, and humor.
I would be so grateful if you could join me in helping to ease their situation.
About me:
My name is Emmie Hsu, and I’m a longtime friend and admirer of Alex and John, as well as a fellow card maker. We met at a letterpress pop-up shop in Pasadena in 2008 (the pop-up shop was hosted by Alex and John's close friends Ken and Shino, another couple who lost their home in the Eaton Fire).
All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to Alex and John, to use towards getting back on their feet.
Thank you so much!
