Help Alex, his family & small business
Donation protected
Alex is a devoted husband of 21 years, a loving father of two daughters, and a hardworking small business owner. After several days of feeling unwell from what he thought was just an intestinal bug and dehydration, he began passing out. This happened multiple times over the night of Friday, March 26. During the last fainting spell, he experienced a full-blown seizure. Subsequently, 911 was called and he was rushed to the hospital the morning of March 27th. Upon arrival, his condition was quite serious. His body was on the verge of total kidney failure and he was dangerously close to having a heart attack or possibly slipping into a coma. The doctors told him his wife saved his life by making that call.
The following day, once his vitals had stabilized, he was sent for a colonoscopy. The results were very unexpected. Alex was told he had a 15cm (5.9”) long tumour in his colon and he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Over the course of several days, he went on to have further testing done. A CT scan and MRI confirmed the tumour in his colon and also revealed a lesion or cyst on his kidney and a spot on his pelvic bone. As of now the extent of the cancer, its prognosis, treatment or recovery time are unknown. He was told a large and somewhat complicated surgery is going to be needed to remove the tumour, and that he could be in the hospital for 1- 3 months.
Alex’s small business, RestoreMyPix, is their only means of income. They are going to need help to make it through the uncertain times ahead. The money raised will be used to cover his family’s living expenses while he is unable to work, as well as, the ambulance bill and any other medical expenses that may not be covered by Alberta Health Care.
Alex and his family are grateful for any and all help during this time. Please take the time to share or make a small contribution.
