Help Alex to be Bama Bound

Alex is hoping the community can help him in his desire to go to the University of Alabama. Alex is a recent graduate of Carl Sandburg High School and was working at Riviera Country Club as a janitor to help contribute to college costs. Alex had limited options for work due to the fact he had to walk to work since his family only has one car. So his mother encouraged him to work at Riviera Country Club, as he was able to walk to and from work.

Alex is planning to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Alabama this fall. He was fortunate to earn an academic scholarship to help cover tuition costs but his job this summer was to help pay for books, dorm essentials and room/board. His mother is a single mom and works extremely hard to provide for her three children- but college costs are above what she can afford. His plans of attending University of Alabama are in jeopardy. Alex needs the help of others.

Alex worked for weeks without a paycheck from Riviera Country Club. To date, Alex has not gotten a single dollar from his job. His first paycheck came back non-sufficient funds and was reissued and was also returned as non- sufficient funds.

Riviera Country Club has now been closed and the owner taken into custody. Alex reached out to his manager, who said there is nothing he can do to get him the money he earned. We hope eventually Alex will be able to receive the pay that is owed to him, but he is in need of funds in the immediate future to pay for school.

Alex worked hard at his job and has not been paid a dime from Riviera Country Club.
