My name is Alex, and I am living with Anti-MDA5 Dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness and makes walking painful and exhausting. My hands are also affected so I have trouble doing basic task that require strength, and touching anything with my hand causes pain and discomfort.

My lungs were also affected and left with permanent damage so I also have to take care of that. Because I have the rare MDA5 antibody it means this disease is lethal if I don't treat it (because of the lungs), so I will have to constantly see doctors and take medicine.
