Help Alex get a new mandolin
Donation protected
Overnight drive to Michigan, a faulty latch in the trailer side door, and in a flash, Alex’s mandolin was gone, crushed by the wheels of the very trailer that carried it along so many roads for so many years. The road can be unforgiving at times, and when something like this happens to a musician’s instrument, it feels like a part of you got crushed along with it. Alex’s uncle Roman named the beautiful handcrafted Rigel mandolin, ‘Sweet Singer’, and it was passed on to him when Alex gave $3,000 to his Aunt Ann to cover Roman’s medical expenses after he died. Sweet Singer became a trusty road companion for the last 17 years, writing many a song and playing 2,000+ shows while traveling over half a million miles across the world. Sweet Singer played his last song at Appaloosa, Jack Dempsey, and what a memorable last song it was.
While he will never be able to replace the priceless heirloom that was Sweet Singer, if you are in a place where you can help, we are trying to raise money for Alex to buy another comparable mandolin so the music can play on. Any bit will help. Thanks everyone from the bottom of our boots!
