Hello friends and family,
My name is Rico Curioso and my wife and I are once again reaching out to generous hearts for our dear friend Alex.
Alex is a friend of mine who resides in the Philippines. He is the breadwinner, father of two young boys and a younger daughter, and husband to a strong, supportive, loving wife.
As some of you may know, he was diagnosed with Stage 3B colon cancer in late November of 2022. We were successful in removing that part of the colon and going through 8 rounds of chemotherapy with the help of a lot of people through the first fundraiser. We were able to stop the cancer from growing. He was feeling well and managing symptoms, and we thought he was getting well until recently when a progressive back pain led to the discovery of the cancer spreading to his liver and spine.
He has recently been confined to a hospital due to his spinal cord being compressed by the cancerous mass and has lost the ability to walk and his urinary function. The medical team, as a result of the MRI, recommended 10 rounds of chemotherapy to save his life, starting immediately.
I want to share with the world what is driving us to be a part of his journey. He is one of the most sacrificial, loving fathers and husbands we have ever known. Most of our conversations back when I worked with him were about his family, his children, his dream of sending them all to school, and buying a small house for his wife. Very simple yet noble dreams. Since the diagnosis, Jen and I have vowed to do all that we can to keep those dreams alive. We join Alex and his family in putting our full faith in Jesus Christ, our HEALER
We are aiming to raise $4,500 to pay for the hospital bills and 10 rounds of chemotherapy and some of the aftercare costs. It may go over that, but we will cross the bridge when we get there. Our top priority is to get him the care that he needs immediately.
UPDATE: We are raising the goal to $8,500 for further care and expenses after he leaves the hospital. There is a current match to ALL DONATIONS to reach the new goal. Alex and his family are overjoyed with everyone's generosity and they send their heartfelt gratitude and they pray that God blesses everyone multiple fold.
Thank you for your heartfelt support and prayers.
Eternally grateful,
Rico and Jen
“For when you saw me hungry, you fed me. When you found me thirsty, you gave me drink. When I had no place to stay, you invited me in, and when I was poorly clothed, you covered me. When I was sick, you tenderly cared for me, and when I was in prison you visited me.’ “Then the godly will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty and give you food and something to drink? When did we see you with no place to stay and invite you in? When did we see you poorly clothed and cover you? When did we see you sick and tenderly care for you, or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will answer them, ‘Don’t you know? When you cared for one of the least of these, my little ones, my true brothers and sisters, you demonstrated love for me.’” Matthew 25:35-40 TPT
