On the morning of Wednesday, August 27th, our friend Alex's sweet 5-year-old dog, Gage, was injured in a hit-and-run accident when he got outside; someone was working on the boiler in the house and accidentally left the front door open. Needless to say, this has been a traumatic day. Anyone who knows Alex and Gage knows that he is the most important thing in their life, so this has been extremely upsetting to them, their family, and their friends who all love him so dearly.

The good news is that he is more than likely going to be okay - he was immediately taken to the emergency vet and spent the whole day there to make sure he's in good enough health to come home. However, it's going to be some time before he will be fully able to play and be himself.

The bad news is that the emergency vet is expensive. Alex is a small business owner who also works a day job, and they work HARD. We're starting this GoFundMe with the hopes that we can help out with Gage's medical bills and alleviate some financial stress, as well as cover lost wages for the time they'll need to take off work as he recovers. There will also likely be follow-up vet visits.
