Help Alex Begin Again — A Writer’s Journey to Czechia

Hi, I’m Alex — a writer, poet, and quiet soul seeking a way forward.

For the past few years, I’ve been living in rural Bulgaria with my five rescue dogs and my ex-partner. What began as a dream of building a peaceful life together slowly turned into something much heavier. Emotionally, financially, and spiritually, the situation has become unsustainable — for both of us. The atmosphere in the house has grown tense. We are no longer partners, just two people holding on in survival mode.

To make things harder, the village we live in has now been without running water for over 11 days. It’s the last sign I needed: I can’t stay here any longer.

But something opened.

I’ve recently been offered a full-time remote job based in Czechia, beginning in early September. It’s steady work that will finally allow me to become self-sufficient, to support myself and eventually rebuild the quiet life I’ve longed for — one rooted in peace, nature, and creative integrity. I will be taking two of my five rescue dogs — Lucy and Dora — with me on this journey.

But I can’t do it alone.

What I Need Help With

This is not a vacation. It’s a threshold — a survival move toward stability and soul reclamation.

Your support will help cover:

Rental deposit + commission for a safe apartment where I can bring Lucy and Dora — €1,800+

Urgent car repairs to make the 1,200 km journey from Bulgaria to Czechia

Temporary dog care/supplies during the transition

Fuel + road tolls

Basic costs until my first paycheck arrives in September

Despite selling books, doing freelance work, and writing full-time, I simply haven’t been able to gather the upfront funds in time.

Why I’m Asking

I’ve always given my creative work freely — never behind paywalls, never reserved for a privileged few. My writing is my offering to the world. And now, I’m asking gently for something in return:

Not charity.

But a bridge.

A way out — and a way through.
