Help Alex and Family Rebuild After Devastating Crash
Donation protected
I’m reaching out on behalf of my son, Alex, who’s facing an overwhelming series of challenges after two car accidents and desperately needs our support to get back on his feet. We’re also humbly asking for your prayers during this difficult time as Alex and his family navigate the physical, emotional, and financial toll of these events.
Alex works tirelessly at the Salted Edge restaurant, often putting in over 50 hours a week to support his girlfriend, Heather, and her 18-year-old son, Jayden, who rely on him as their sole provider. On March 31, 2025, his parked white 2016 Chevy Impala—the car he’d nearly paid off with just one payment left—was totaled by a drunk driver. Left without a vehicle, Alex borrowed mine while he searched for a replacement. I’ve been assisting him financially with that car and other bills as needed, but the mounting costs have become too much for me to handle alone.
On April 28, 2025, he purchased a red 2022 Ford Edge, taking on a new car loan to get back on the road. Tragically, on May 15, 2025, while driving to downtown Omaha on eastbound I-80 near 42nd Street, Alex was rear-ended by a construction company truck towing a skid loader. The trailer’s ball hitch snapped, causing a secondary impact that worsened the crash. The construction company was found 100% at fault and ticketed for following too closely, but the legal process is slow, and Alex is left to cover immediate costs.
The accident left Alex’s new Ford Edge totaled, and he hasn’t even made the first payment on the loan or paid the taxes and licensing fees, which amount to over $2,000 out of pocket. More devastatingly, Alex, Heather, and Jayden were all injured. Heather was rushed to the ER with neck and back pain, and Alex and Jayden were diagnosed with concussions and whiplash. Alex also suffered two compression fractures in his back and significant problems with his right wrist, and his doctor has ordered him not to return to work for an extended period of time. Alex may need wrist surgery soon.
With no benefits through his job, Alex is facing a complete loss of income during this time. As the sole provider for his family, this is a crushing blow. They live in an apartment, and rent is due at the end of each month. They also have utilities due soon, adding to the financial strain. On top of that, Alex needs to find another car, requiring at least a $5,000+ down payment. Costs for specialists and medical bills for Alex, Heather, and Jayden are piling up, as they’ll need to cover these expenses upfront while waiting for insurance or a settlement from the construction company.
We’re asking for your help to raise money to support Alex and his family during this incredibly difficult time. This will cover:
* Rent
* Utilities
* Down payment for new vehicle
* Lost income due to Alex not being able to work
Any contribution will make a huge difference, helping Alex cover these urgent needs so he can focus on healing and supporting his family. I’ve done my best to support him, but I can’t do it alone anymore, and your generosity will help ease this burden. We also ask for your prayers for strength, healing, and provision as they face this challenging chapter. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign to spread the word. Your generosity, support, and prayers mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
