Twin brothers helped lead their JV high school hockey team to a championship last season—but financial hardship now threatens to keep them off the ice!!!
As a parent in our West Ranch JV Hockey family, I have had the privilege of watching twin brothers Alex and Ben grow as athletes and teammates. Last season, they joined our West Ranch Hockey JV high school team in the LA Kings High School Hockey League and quickly became key contributors, helping the team win the League championship. More importantly, they rediscovered their love for the game and became an inspiration to those around them.
Unfortunately, their family has been through a very tough year. Both parents were laid off from their jobs within weeks of each other, and the home they were renting was sold, forcing them into temporary housing in a makeshift guest house in a relative’s backyard. While Alex and Ben’s mom is now working again, finances are still stretched to cover basic needs, and hockey costs are out of reach.
Hockey has been a lifeline for these boys during this challenging time—providing stability, friendship, and confidence. These aren't just two kids who want to play hockey, they're championship contributors to the JV team and young men who have found their identity and confidence through the sport. The hockey rink has become their sanctuary during one of the most difficult periods of their family's life. The team is counting on them this season, but registration and tournament fees are due by August 21st. Without help, they may not be able to play.
I’m starting this fundraiser to give Alex and Ben the chance to stay on the ice where they belong. Any amount will make a difference, and their family is committed to paying it forward when they’re back on their feet.
Thank you for helping to keep their hockey journey going!!!!
