Help Alex Afford Medical Bills

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to click here and read this. I'll try to keep it short.

My name is Alex, and like many people, I need assistance paying medical bills. Over the past few years, I have had 4 major surgeries (photo from my most recent in October of 2023). This has taken a huge financial toll, and despite working over full-time, I have no savings and a notable amount of debt. I have another major surgery coming up in July that will leave me unable to work and fully dependent on a caregiver for at least two months - if all goes well. If there are complications, I may be out of work for longer and require additional surgery. This surgery is also highly specialized and requires me to travel and stay out of the state I live in. My husband will be my full-time caregiver and will also have to be out of work during this time, leaving us with no income and no savings to live on.

In addition, this surgery has required the preparation of a skin graft, which has required 150+ hours of specialized care - care for which I have had to pay entirely out of pocket (~$400/month). As one could imagine, this has been a major financial burden and has prevented me from being able to save at all.

I hate asking for money from others, especially knowing that many of us are struggling during these times, but I am becoming desperate and low on options. I have worked myself to the point of injury, sold many of my belongings, cut back on any bills I can, and am considering filing for bankruptcy, and unfortunately, I still cannot keep up.
