Hi, my name is Debbie Davies and I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friend, Rosie Turner who runs Desperate Dogs of Azerbaijan (DDA).

Rosie founded the rescue 5yrs ago after she moved from Canada to Azerbaijan for work and was horrified by the way stray animals are treated.

Dogs and cats are regularly culled from the streets and the methods used are far from humane.

I am based in the UK but have supported Rosie from the start and we now have our own DDA shelter which is home to over 180 dogs and 35 cats.

The shelter is a safe haven but it is not a proper home and we would love more of our precious animals to find forever families in the UK.

Two lucky souls, Alessi (cat) and Fergus (Collie dog) have golden tickets reserved for the end of November but we must raise extra funds to ensure they can travel.

Handsome Fergus was once owned by a family but they threw him out on the street when they got bored with him. Fortunately, Rosie got to him just before the dog catchers and he has lived at our shelter for quite some time.

Beautiful Alessi was found on the street as a tiny kitten and would never have survived had Rosie not taken him in.

The logistics of bringing animals from Azerbaijan to the UK is very difficult and expensive and we do not want these two precious souls to miss their chance.

Their potential adopters have already donated generously but it costs a minimum of £1,500 per animal

therefore we must also fundraise.

I will be travelling to Azerbaijan at the end of November and I do not want to return alone.

Every penny really does count and please share as much as possible to help us make more dreams come true.
