Hey everyone my name is Jamie,
I’m starting this Go Fund Me so we can all help our girl Alena! If you don’t already know, Alena is battling cancer for a 2nd time and this time she definitely needs our help! Alena is a single hard working mom who at times is known to hold down 2-3 jobs but is unfortunately unable to work at this time. We all know that not having enough money to take care of yourself and family is such a huge stressor and health wise she can’t afford to be anymore stressed than she already is. Alena needs to focus on her health and her treatments so she can beat this cancer! Alena will be using this money to help with some bills at home, gas and food for treatment days as it’s an all day thing and quite the drive and also for the days where she requires overnight stays at the Mayo because insurance won’t cover that cost, we checked. If you don’t know the story of what my beautiful, strong and brave best friend had to go through already and what she is going through now here it is…..
In December of 2021 Alena was diagnosed with Grade 3 Invasive Inductel Carsonova AKA Triple Negative Breast Cancer. With it being a stage 3 diagnosis they wasted no time starting her treatments. All through 2021 and 2022 Alena fought this cancer, she had chemo treatments and during that she was set back a few times due to covid sickness. At first her tumors showed signs of shrinking but then it began growing so Alena underwent surgery to have the tumor removed as well as 32 lymph nodes. After all that Alena began her 6 months of chemo pills. During this fight our girl lost her hair and her energy at times but always remained strong and positive and never asked anyone for help. Her strength through all of this just continues to amaze me everyday. After the chemo pills were completed, June of 2023 Alena began her radiation treatments. At first it seemed like everything was heading in the right direction and she was on the road to having her reconstruction surgery but first she would need a PET scan to be sure. In January 2024 a second devastating heart break came, she was told she needed a biopsy on some spots that were growing (they seen earlier but thought it was from covid). By March of 2024 she was officially told it was cancer once again or that it never left, not sure we will ever know the answer to that one. The Dr told her he believed it to be stage 4 due to the aggressive treatments she had previously been on, he just found it hard to believe it was recurrent. At that time her Dr stated there wasn’t anything else he could do for her but he did have an option to refer her to one of his mentors at the Mayo in Rochester for a clinical trial. Alena had to first go through some rounds of testing to see if she qualified and I thank God everyday she did! Once she qualified they wasted no time and she began round 2 of this vicious fight. This Dr believes it is not stage 4 and that it is recurrent and that’s what we are hoping and praying for. Alena is truly fighting for her life, this girl is only on round 3 of treatments and already has total hair loss, in pain, and some days depleted energy as these treatments are much more harsher than the last ones, she was also told as of right now there is no end date for these treatments in sight. Alena has already missed a treatment due to time in the ER with a painful infection. At this time Alena is totally unable to work and has also been told she needs to vacate her home as they are selling it. More stress is not what she needs in her life. Let’s help her lighten her load some so she can focus on her life’s true fight which is kicking this cancers ass. I’ve known this girl my entire life at least I thought I knew her cause let me tell you something, this girl has amazed me with her ability to remain so strong and positive, the confidence she displays all while not feeling well, she just continues to wake up and make her self smile and look as beautiful as ever and continues to push forward no matter what life’s thrown at her. She lives life with her kids, friends and family as normal as she can and don’t complain. She doesn’t like asking for help, she had a hard time asking her own best friends and family to take off work to drive her and Alena does need drivers for her treatments so we are all taking turns and doing the best we can, she goes several times a month to the Mayo and as I said it’s quite the drive and it’s an all day ordeal, our girl is wiped after these treatments but she still makes you laugh, take selfies and just talks and smiles all day if she don’t doze off cause she definitely does that too which is to be expected. There are some back to back days where she may require hotels and lots of rest in between appointments. Again let’s help Alena take some financial stress away so she can 100% use her strength and energy to fight and win this battle that no one should ever have to endure. Even sharing her story helps her and her family. My bestie is Gold she is worth everything to me, here’s a quote I found in our texts this is just proof how amazingly strong and positive she is “Anything we gotta do to fight this battle, we here to do it”. So please let’s help her fight this battle. Thanks in advance
