Alena’s Surgery: Support for Vet Bills

My sweet Maine coon Alena, who just turned 11, had to undergo emergency surgery—an urgent laparotomy that saved her life. Alena is more than just a pet—she’s family, and my best friend. When she suddenly became anorexic and ill, we had no choice but to act.

Even though we were unprepared, we took her to the vet and eventually the ER. Financing/payment plans were not available for the cost of the tests, the hospital visit, surgery, nor the follow-up care. Unfortunately this is why we went into debt in order to cover all the fees. We don't usually ask for help, but we just couldn’t bear to lose her. She was nearly septic and in critical condition, so we had to pull the money together as soon as possible. Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and Alena is now hopefully on the road to recovery. I’m beyond relieved and grateful—but now we’re facing large payments and rapidly accumulating interest that will be extremely difficult to manage alone.
