Help Aleksey and Lydia Rebuild After Flood

This GoFundMe is for our Uncle Aleksey and Aunt Lydia who were affected by Tropical Storm Debby in Richmond Hill, GA. Their homes on Rushing Street suffered severe flooding and was one of the hardest hit areas. They live next door to each other and have called this their home for over 20 years. In all their years here, they have never seen anything like this. They had no choice but to evacuate when water started coming into their homes.

Their homes were only accessible by boat for several days before the water started to recede. There was standing water mixed with sewage inside their homes. Floors, walls, appliances and furniture have all been damaged.

Like others in the area, their flood insurance was cancelled because this area was not classified as a flood zone. As a result, they will need to pay for all the damages and repairs out of their own pockets.

Their cars were damaged and will need to be repaired. Our uncle is self-employed and relies on his van for work. Until his van is repaired, he is unable to work. They have lost most of their possessions and everything in their homes will need to be repaired or replaced.

This has been an incredibly difficult and stressful time for them as they try to start rebuilding their lives and homes.
