In December 2024, my life changed when I was involved in a car accident. The accident left me with a serious shoulder injury, and in 2025, I underwent surgery in hopes of getting back to normal. Unfortunately, the surgery did not go as planned, and I have been living with pain ever since. After more than six months of ongoing discomfort and countless doctor appointments, I now need another surgery to finally address the problem and find relief from the pain.

As a paraprofessional, I love my work and supporting others, but this journey has taken a toll on my health and finances. I have used up all my sick days for medical appointments, so the time I need to recover from this next surgery will be unpaid. My family and I just bought our home, and we are doing our best to keep up with our mortgage, bills, and groceries. The thought of not being able to provide for my loved ones during my recovery is overwhelming.
