Alejandra was supposed to be our Christmas baby, due Dec 24th but she couldn't wait to meet us all so she made her arrival 3 weeks early on Dec 4th.
While she is determined and strong to thrive in this big world, we have found out she will need a little extra help.
Recently, Alejandra was diagnosed with Plagiocephaly, Craniosynostosis and Torticollis. Of course, like most people we had no idea what these words meant or what this meant for her. Some of her symptoms with this are flattening of the head, which causes her to have tightening of muscles in her neck and arm, causing constant tension.
Good news is upon research and consulting with her Doctors we learned much of her struggles with this can be relieved with a Cranial Remodeling Helmet that will help her reshape her head in the next 6 months.
The Harder News is that insurance will not cover this. We are pulling all we can together for her, but she is currently in physical therapy and other specialist appointments; so this amount is not something we can pull together alone, as fast as she needs this.
It is important that she gets this medical helmet as quickly as possible as time is only going to make the journey longer and harder.
While we understand that everyone's situation is different, anything is beyond appreciated...from a share of this post or $1 Our family thanks you!!!!
P.S. Below is a linked video of another child who has 2 of the 3 diagnoses that Alejandra has and we have added it below to provide a little more clarity and understanding on the journey we will be going on.
