Hello, my name is Jody and I am creating this Gofundme on behalf of a very dear friend of mine Aleen. We met back in 2012, we were co-workers who became fast friends and have remained friends ever since.

•On October 2018, Aleen was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Her scan showed 28 positive lymph nodes. This led to a double mastectomy procedure, followed by chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

•Fast forward to October of 2021, when she started losing weight and experiencing leg pain. Through testing, it was discovered that there was a tumor in her spine. It was removed on Feb 2, 2022 and it was malignant. Aleen then traveled to Boston, Dana Farber Cancer Hospital for a second opinion. Through more testing/scans, she was told that the cancer has spread to her brain, spinal cord, and spinal fluid. Due to her complicated case, she will be continuing treatments in Boston, as they have teams that specialize in treating advanced cancer.

This means that on top of medical expenses, Aleen will have travel expenses on top of it all.

My friend needs all of her strength to fight, and the last thing that she should have to be concerned about is her medical expenses.

I am creating this page in hopes that we can help relieve some of the financial burden from her plate.
