Hi all -

My name is Ale (Ah-lay). In 2023, I had long-covid for 10 months and was mostly unable to work. I was laid off as a result of my "diminished capacity" by job #1. My second job disappeared due to lack of work and funds. And my third job didn't begin until November of 2023 when I was already way behind on expenses. I'm working as much as I can right now, but $15 an hour does not make ends meet. I am searching (and applying) for more work and have not had luck yet.

As such, I have accrued 6+ months of debt. I am struggling to make ends meet. I have not bought myself food in almost a year and have been relying on handouts from friends and work. I have no one at this point that I can borrow money from because I have already exhausted those resources, including what little my partner could offer. And now, as bad luck would have it, I have the flu and cannot work for this week.

I don't like to ask others for money because I know we are all struggling. But now more than ever I need to lean on my community. When I am back on my feet, y'all know I will pay it forward. Please, anything will help at this point. Thank you in advance for the support.
