Rachel has kept a lot of us entertained and laughing daily since the lovely Rita. Alfie has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and needs more investigation and the potential for expensive surgery . Please send what you can.

Rachel's post today:
Morning all, sorry i’ve a bit quiet this week, it’s been hectic…..i have some devastating news!! Our beautiful dear little Albie has hip .

Funds will be used to assist in paying vets bills
This still needs to be 100% confirmed by x-ray on Tuesday but has been 99.9% confirmed by and orthopaedic specialist/surgeon, Ray and i felt he knew just by watching him walk before he even examined him.
It was becoming more and more apparent he was struggling to get up from a laying position, at first we thought it was puppy legs on a wooden floor etc and his laziness also got to the point where we thought can a puppy actually be that lazy!!
Joanne is as devastated as we are, i have lists of parents and Grandparents amazing hip scores and list of 240 hereditary conditions that he shouldn’t get.
The specialist said nothing we have or haven’t done would have caused this, i asked about injuries, he said an injury wouldn’t cause that either. He also said regardless of the fantastic hip scores of parents unfortunately one unlucky little dog can just have it.
Jo has been breeding for 32 yrs and this has never happened before and will probably never happen again, its been very frustrating for her too as she spends hundreds/thousands on doing everything she needs to do as a breeder. But there is nothing any of us could have done, it is just a very unlucky and sad situation.
To make matters worse he isn’t insured (please don’t judge me on this i had my reasons) as you all know we will be moving, and way back when my house went on the market, my financial advisor told me as i need to borrow the most i can possibly borrow, not to take on any more monthly payments as it will impact what we can borrow….so i held off, having no idea my house would take as long as it did to sell, and i’m still not in a complete chain now so i still can’t put my full mortgage application in.
Jo offered to take him back but as you will all know as Jo did that wouldn’t be an option for us.
She has refunded what i paid for him and has offered to help to pay for any treatment he needs….this is way above the duty of a breeder in my eyes but that is Jo for you, she loves Albie as much as we do ❤️
His treatment will start as soon as the referral goes through with intense physio and hydrotherapy for 3 months because the most important thing right now is to build his glutes up. We are hopeful its only his left side as the specialist couldn’t feel any movement on his right side but the X-rays will confirm that.
Albie is very loved as you all know and one way or another he will get all the treatment he needs
