Help Alberto Gomez Jr with Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Gomez, and I am raising funds for my big brother Alberto Gomez Jr.

On December 16, 2021, my big brother was admitted to YRMC, critically ill with a severe case of COVID-19. He spent 22 days intubated in the ICU, fighting for his life. Thankfully, by the grace of God and with the excellent care of the ICU doctors/ nurses, he was discharged and able to come home on January 13, 2022.

Having him home with us is an absolute blessing, but the reality is that he has a long recovery ahead of him. He suffered organ damage due to the severity of the infection and severe muscle atrophy. He was left with immense pain in both his legs and cannot walk. Unfortunately, the hospital failed to transfer him to a rehabilitation center for the aftercare he so desperately needs due to the lack of medical insurance.

The medical bills at this time are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. The bills do not include the rehabilitation centers costs to come. We are doing everything in our power to get him the care he needs so he can continue healing. But the financial costs have far surpassed what he and our family can take on. 

The money raised will go towards: 

1. Current hospital bills 

2. prescription medication

3. follow-up doctors visits

4. Neurologist for nerve study 

5. Physical therapy and rehabilitation costs.

Albert, or Junior as most people know him, is a wonderful father/stepfather to three amazing kids. He is an amazing brother and friend to those who know him. Jr has always gone out of his way to help others. He has such a big heart and a generous spirit.
