Hi, my name is Danah, and I’ve created this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend, Alayna Mitchell.

In the last few years, Alayna’s health has taken a serious turn. In April 2023, she suffered a heart attack and underwent an emergency triple bypass surgery. Her recovery has been long and difficult—but through it all, she’s remained determined to regain her strength for her family and for the people she serves.

Now, she’s facing yet another medical challenge. Alayna has developed severe eye issues involving her retina and macula. Her ophthalmologist has confirmed she urgently needs cataract surgery to restore and preserve her vision.

Alayna is a proud new mother to a beautiful baby girl. Without this surgery, her ability to care for her daughter, provide for her family, and return to work as a licensed social worker is at serious risk.

Alayna has always dedicated her life to helping others—both professionally and personally. She’s the kind of person who gives without ever expecting anything in return. Today, she’s the one in need.
