Help Alaya Ketani Heal and Continue Her Impactful Work
Community Activation Needed.
This fundraiser is co-organized with Love by Megan Halling, Lisa Ebony, Debbie Thornton, Christopher Harding, Ruby Suvoy, Shazna Jai.

For years, Alaya Ketani has been a powerful force for safety, healing, and empowerment in Southern Oregon. If you’ve crossed paths with her—as a survivor seeking support, a community member needing guidance, a client, or simply as someone touched by her presence—you know the kind of person she is. Steady. Compassionate. Unfailingly dedicated to lifting others up.

And through her work as Founder and Executive Director of her nonprofit, Keeping All Women Safe (K.A.W.S.), her collaborations with community leaders, the District Attorney’s office, and her decades of trauma-informed care for clients, Alaya has changed countless lives. Her efforts have helped protect women and girls, supported survivors on their healing journeys, and strengthened our community in ways most people will never fully see. She has given her heart, her time, and her strength—often without recognition or pay and never asking for anything in return.
And now, she needs us.

Alaya is facing a serious, complex injury that requires extensive medical treatments—treatments with specialists that are not covered by her insurance. She has also had extreme reactions to most drugs and needs other pain management methods. She cannot eat, it is very painful to talk, and sleep is difficult. The physical, emotional, and financial strain is overwhelming. For someone who has spent her life making sure others had what they needed to be safe, to heal, and to thrive, this moment is especially heavy. She does not have family to help share the weight of this recovery period. The good news is that she will completely return to her vital health with our help and continue her impactful work for our communities and us!

This is our chance to give back; our chance to let her feel, in a very real and tangible way, the same care and protection she has provided to so many; a chance to stand beside her as she navigates the road toward healing.

Every donation, large or small, makes a difference.
Every share matters. Please share.
Every gesture of support helps lighten the burden she carries right now.
Let’s surround Alaya with the love, dignity, and community she has so freely offered others. Let’s help her access the treatments she needs so she can heal fully and continue the extraordinary work she brings into this world.

Hear the voices below of just a few of the many people whose lives Alaya has touched.

Community Activation Needed
My friend is one of those rare people who steps up when someone else is in need. She’s a nonprofit founder, a true community leader, and someone who pours her heart, time, and energy into making the world better for others—often quietly, behind the scenes, without ever asking for anything in return.
Right now, she’s the one who needs us.
And this is our chance to show up with the same love and support she’s given to so many.

If you’ve ever been touched by her kindness, inspired by her work, or simply believe in supporting the people who hold our communities together, please consider donating or sharing her GoFundMe. No amount is too small. Every share helps. Every act of support matters.
Let’s remind her that community isn’t just something she builds—it’s something that surrounds her, too.

Lisa Ebony:
I heard about Alaya long before I met her, and throughout the years the one thing that has always been consistent in experiences with Alaya is that she SHOWS UP. She has shown up physically, she has done research to arm folks with the information they need to protect and advocate for themselves, and she has been a calming and comforting presence through some people's worst moments. She is deserving of as much support and assistance as we as a community can offer her during this time. She has been a true light to others, and I hope we can come together and be a light for her now.

Debbie Thornton:
I want to share a little about someone who has quietly but powerfully shaped our community: our friend, Alaya Ketani.
If you’ve ever met Alaya, you know she leads with heart. She’s supported women, survivors, and so many people who needed healing, direction, or simply someone who truly listens. She founded Keeping All Women Safe (KAWS) - a nonprofit task force that brought together local leaders, trainings, and awareness around women’s safety and empowerment, and her collaborative work with the DA in removing a serial predator, ended the terror of women and girls across Southern Oregon.

Her work really has made Ashland, and all of Southern Oregon, a safer, more compassionate place.
Right now, Alaya is facing a very serious medical crisis. The emotional and financial weight is overwhelming, and for someone who has spent a lifetime lifting others up, this is our moment to lift her. This fundraiser is our chance to give back to a woman who has poured so much into our community.
Whether you can donate, share, or simply send love her way, it matters.
Alaya has been a steady source of strength for so many of us. Let’s show her that she isn’t facing this alone - and surround her with the same care, protection, and community that she’s given to others.
Please consider donating if you can.

Ruby Suvoy
My name is Ruby, and Alaya has been my hypnotherapist for the past 2 years. Throughout our work together, Alaya has been instrumental in helping me navigate and heal.
Alaya consistently shows up with compassion, integrity, and dedication to the individuals and our communities. She is a strong advocate for trauma-informed care and for the safety and empowerment of women, and her contributions have had a profound impact on many of us.
At this time, Alaya is in need of the same care and support she has continuously offered to others. My hope is that our community will come together to uplift her through this difficult period, honoring the immense commitment and generosity she has shown us all

Christopher Harding
While serving on the board of K.A.W.S. (Keeping All Women Safe) with its founder, Alaya Ketani, I had the wonderful opportunity to witness her tireless efforts to effect important change in the community. Her continuing commitment to consistently create awareness, support programs, and to advocate for women’s protection continues to inspire me.
Now, Alaya is faced with recovering from a complex injury that will require extensive medical treatments which are not covered by insurance. The level of pain she is experiencing is immense and disabling.

Sadly, Alaya is a prime example of the healthcare crisis impacting our country. How is it that anyone – especially someone who has contributed so much – finds themselves in a situation where the healing processes they need are out of their reach? We may not be able to change the system yet, but we can have a powerful impact in a very personal way by helping Alaya.
If you can help through your contribution, large or small, the whole community will be the ultimate beneficiary. Let’s give this tireless advocate for good, the support she needs.

Shazna Jai
Alaya is a devoted community leader. When times are tough and the leaders need assistance, who do they call? They need their community, the village, the tribe - You and Me. Please return the love in kind for Alaya. I'm grateful for her work in the light for us all. Let's lift her up to heal today so she can help more people. Thank you for whatever you can donate and please share.

Joy Goldblatt
Alaya has devoted her life to helping others be free and live their best possible life. Now she needs help to heal and continue her work and life. Please donate if you can, and share this link.
