Help Alaura and Maggie Find Safe Housing

Hi everyone! My name is Alaura and I am currently unhoused with my dog, Maggie. For the last three years, we have lived out of my converted camper van, but unfortunately, my van needed sudden major repairs and is more than likely out of commission for the foreseeable future.

As a result, I am facing a housing crisis. I was living in a cheap motel, but it quickly became unsafe and I had to leave very suddenly with nowhere else to go. Maggie and I are currently sleeping in a tent in the woods in Charlotte, and my goal is to either get back into another hotel, or potentially find a rental situation (preferred as the cheapest hotel near me is $450 a week give or take).

Any help, monetarily or even just advice/leads on housing, would be so appreciated. The June heat has been brutal, and while I am thankful that Maggie and I are in the shade and have creek access, we hope to be in a more temperature controlled environment as soon as possible :) This would also allow me to work again. My typical source of income came from either odd end jobs, or my photography/paintings that I sell. My last hotel obliterated any savings that I had as it was close to $600 a week, but once Maggie and I find a place, I should be able to restart my income flow and get relatively back on my feet within a few weeks.

My goal is set rather high, and I do not expect to meet that goal, but hotels are not cheap and if I find a rental situation and need to come up with a deposit of sorts, I set my goal to a number that would allow me to do so if I found the right opportunity!
