Please Help My Cat Alastor

Hello, my name is Maggie and I am starting this fundraiser for my cat Alastor (Namesake: Alastor Moody from Harry Potter for those wondering).

I adopted him from a shelter in November of 2021. At the time of his adoption, he was severely underweight, suffering with an upper respiratory infection, and had just gone through a back leg amputation. He also made a significant snorting sound that I was told was a side effect of the upper respiratory infection and would go away after I finished his round of medication and gave him a few weeks to recover. That time came and went and he still has a significant snort when he breathes. I went to the vet multiple times for both his breathing problems and his slow healing amputation site. After multiple rounds of antibiotics, x-rays, cultures, bloodwork, sedated examination of his throat, drainage of fluid from the amputation, and now a referral to a specialist, I am left with a few possible diagnoses, but very expensive testing and treatment to determine the final diagnosis and solve it.

The estimate the internal medicine specialist gave me is for a CT scan of his head to determine if the cause of his snorting is a polyp that can be removed with minimal surgical complexity or something with bloodflow attached to it such as a tumor, which would require a much more extensive surgery to remove if it can be removed. The estimate also includes the price to go back into the amputation area and find the source of why it hasn't healed yet, and for all the costs associated with the surgical procedures necessary for both issues.

I recently started my own business and while I am so grateful that income has been steady, I have been faced with multiple back-to-back "rainy day" issues that have left my savings significantly drained. I am not one to ask for money, especially as large an amount as $6,000, but I see Alastor struggle to breathe everyday and the discomfort that the remaining unhealed portion of his amputation gives him and it makes my heart ache knowing I can't get it fixed for him on my own. He has brought so much joy to my life and I want to do everything I can to give him the best life possible, but I need help.

If you could please consider helping me, I would be forever grateful. I ask that no one donates anonymously so that I can send each and every one of you a thank you message, but if that is what you prefer, I understand. Just know that I am so incredibly grateful for any help you are willing to offer and Alastor's life will be so much more comfortable because of your generosity.

Thank you.
