Hey everyone,

As many of you know, I’m passionate about how freeze drying can make a real difference in our global economies and communities. Freeze-dried food can also make a significant difference in times of crisis, and right now, Western Alaska needs our help.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong have devastated several Native Alaskan villages. Flooding has destroyed homes, contaminated water sources, and left families struggling to meet even the most basic needs as winter sets in.

Earlier this summer, I visited Alaska Food Co to see their mission in action, using locally grown Alaskan crops to create sustainable, freeze-dried foods that strengthen food security across the state. (Videos from that visit are coming soon!)

Now, Alaska Food Co is donating freeze-dried mashed potatoes and other food to the impacted communities. But there’s a critical challenge: these families need clean, boiling water to safely reconstitute the food.

That’s why I’m raising funds for Freeze Dried Depot to donate fund to Alaska Food Co to create freeze dried meals for these communities and help those in need.
