Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our plea for help. My name is Sydnee, and I am reaching out on behalf of my friend, Ala Osama, who is facing severe hardships in the Gaza Strip. Ala is only 26 years old, and despite ongoing challenges and personal tragedies, her resilience and hope in the face of these circumstances are truly inspiring. Today, she needs our support more than ever. I will be collecting donations and directly sending them to her. We met through mutual friends.
Ala grew up in an area devastated by years of war, where daily life requires overcoming challenges that many of us can hardly imagine. From securing basic necessities like water and electricity, which have been out since October 7, to maintaining personal safety—Ala and her family’s strength and unity shine through amidst these ongoing hardships.
Ala’s family’s struggles worsened dramatically after her father suffered a severe car accident, which left him unable to walk just one year before the latest escalation of the conflict. Despite undergoing complex surgery, his mobility was not fully restored, and he now requires constant care. This situation has placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on the family, changing their lives permanently. Recently, these challenges forced them into an even more desperate situation—they are now living on the streets, trying to find safety and stability day by day.
Since then, Ala has taken on the role of primary caregiver and provider for her family. The war has further compounded their difficulties, particularly affecting Ala’s only brother, whose university was destroyed in the shelling. This devastating event has thrown his promising future as an accounting student into uncertainty.
Today, the family is at a crossroads, struggling with mounting medical expenses for Ala’s father and seeking alternative educational opportunities for her brother. They need our help to navigate this extremely challenging time. Any contribution, small or large, will go directly toward medical costs, meeting basic daily needs, and supporting educational opportunities for Ala’s brother, providing the family with some stability and hope in these difficult times.
This Chuffed campaign aims to provide the community support that Ala and her family need to endure and overcome the many challenges they face. Your donation can make a real difference in their lives, offering not only financial relief but also a profound sense of solidarity.
Please consider supporting Ala and her family through your contributions. Together, we can help bring some measure of peace and recovery to their lives. Thank you for your generosity and for standing with Ala’s family during this critical time.
