Alan is raising this fundraiser for his nephew and niece (Jeramie and Michelle Irving) after a devastating explosion changed their lives in an instant. On the morning of Saturday, August 8, their mobile home exploded because of a gas leak. They survived, but both are now in the hospital with major burns covering more than 75 percent of their bodies. They face a very long road of treatment and recovery ahead, and neither of them has health insurance. On top of these overwhelming medical needs, their home was completely demolished. Everything inside was lost, including their clothing, personal belongings, and even their cell phones, which were melted in the fire.

This family is now facing one crisis after another. Because of the severe structural damage, no one can safely get inside the home to recover anything. Their two Huskies (Bandit and Smokey) also survived, but they are receiving emergency veterinary care, and the vet bills are already extremely high.
