Hi everyone,
I’m not usually someone who asks for help, but I’m reaching out because I have an upcoming foot surgery on March 26 that will require me to take time away from work while I recover.
I’ve lived with foot pain for most of my life, and after years of pushing through long days on my feet working in the restaurant industry, and being a dancer, the pain has finally reached a point where surgery is the best option. As a restaurant manager, being on my feet for entire shifts is a big part of my job, so taking time off to heal is necessary if I want to come back stronger and able to keep doing what I love.
While I do have short-term disability through work, it only covers 60% of my income, and there will still be medical costs from the surgery, anesthesia, and insurance out-of-pocket expenses. Recovery will also mean a few weeks where I’m limited in mobility and unable to work full shifts.
I’ve set a goal of $5,000 to help cover medical expenses, loss of income during recovery, and basic living costs while I heal.
If you’re able to donate or even share this, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help take some of the financial stress off while I focus on healing and getting back on my feet.
Thank you so much for the kindness and encouragement. It truly means the world to me.
With gratitude,
Alanna
