In December of last year, I suffered an accident that changed my life in an instant. I was admitted to the hospital and had emergency spinal surgery, hoping it would help me heal and regain my ability to function. Sadly, that surgery failed. Now I am back in the hospital facing the reality of needing a spinal fusion. Along with the physical pain and uncertainty, I am also carrying the weight of overwhelming medical bills that have already piled up. What has made this even harder is losing my job because I have been unable to work through all of this.

More than anything, I want the chance to function again and return to some sense of normal life. I am a mother of two, and not being able to move the way I need to, care for my children the way I want to, or be present for the important moments in their lives has affected my entire family. My quality of life is deeply important to me, especially because my children depend on me. This surgery is not just about my health. It is about giving me the chance to heal, support my family, and become the person and mother I need to be.
