Hello I am Alanna and I was told by a very good friend that I should set up a GoFundMe to help fund the surgery my cat had in July of 2025.
I adopted Banner March 5th of 2022 and it was love at first sight. He was only 2 years old and I had been adopting special needs senior cats for many years so having a kitten was brand new for me. He has brought so much joy into my life that I had to get the surgery that was required for him to survive.
I took him to the vet when he was acting a bit strange and they said just keep an eye on him. The next day I knew something wasn’t right so I took him to the ER. They took him back and said there was urine in the carrier so he wasn’t blocked and gave him back to me.
The very next day, he absolutely was not using the litter box so I took them back to the ER. They kept him for three days observing him with a catheter. They sent him home to me on a Saturday only for me to return the very next day, on Sunday. At this point, I’ve already put six grand on my credit card. Now they’re telling me he needs a surgery called PU I was told it's essentially a sexual reassignment surgery that makes it easier for male cats to pee. This would cost $7000 minimum and I signed up for CareCredit and maxed out all of my credit cards. Banner is doing fantastic, but my credit is not. I have a hard time asking for help but my good friend said I should try because I have a lot of good people that back me. Thank you for listening to my story.
