This is Alana. She’s 2 and the daughter of a friend of mine. She was born with a rare heart condition. She has spent the majority of her life in the hospital as her heart slowly becomes inoperable. She’s endured three surgeries but they haven’t been able to fix the problem. In a last ditch effort her doctors are trying an experimental heart surgery that could require Alana staying in the hospital up to 8 months.
