Help Alan Stay With His Family longer: Cancer trial.

My name is Brooke, and I am reaching out to you as Alan’s pain in the bum sister-in-law.

At just 43, Alan was diagnosed with the rare ALK + non-small cell metastatic cancer, a diagnosis that shattered our world.

Alan is a loving husband to my sister Kellie and a devoted father to their two beautiful daughters, Elly and Georgia. He was always fit, healthy, and hardworking, making this news even more devastating.

Since September 2024, Alan has quietly and bravely battled this cancer. He has faced countless challenges: biopsies, targeted therapy, chemotherapy, radiation to his entire brain and spine, immunotherapy, and endless hospital visits. He has not been able to work at his cherished job or drive due to the cancer in his brain.

Kellie has been forced stop working to care for Alan, and she has exhausted all her leave. Their lives have been consumed by scans, appointments, treatments, and the agonising wait for results.

Tragically, the treatment that was keeping Alan with his family has stopped working and his cancer has progressed and also mutated.

Just before Christmas 2025, a glimmer of hope emerged when Alan was offered a place in a clinical trial in Sydney for a new cancer vaccine and ADC treatment. This trial offers us a chance to hold onto hope, but it comes with substantial and ongoing costs, including travel from Cairns to Sydney, accommodation, and continuing loss of income.

Alan and Kellie are private and proud individuals who never ask for help, and I had to persuade them to let me reach out. It’s difficult for them to accept financial assistance, but right now, they need it. They are also blown away by people’s kindness and words of support, it has honesty brought them to tears.

Every donation, no matter how small, will be used for travel, accommodation, and living expenses, while they battle this beast. Your help allows Alan to focus on fighting, spending time with his girls, and not stressing about going into debt.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, donating, and sharing Alan’s story. Please continue to share Alan’s story and GoFundMe to your community, every little helps.
