Anyone who knows Alan can attest to his goofy, gentle, and lighthearted nature. They can also attest to his kindness and selflessness. He is what most people would consider a “helper.” He has spent almost 30 years being, not only a husband to his best friend Christy, but a father to her children. He is epitome of not just a step-dad, but a dad who stepped up. He just might shine the most in his role as Papaw. He is one with nature, what some might consider a male Snow White. And to top it all off, he is the type of man who tries to find the silver lining in life. If something is going wrong, you can bet that Alan is there looking for the light that is trying to shine through.

Alan was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Esophageal cancer. He has begun chemo and radiation in an effort to fight. This news has been devastating for him, his family, and his friends. Yet despite it all, he continues to find that light. He has embraced the tag line “Embrace the Suck” to anchor himself through this process.

This go fund me is geared toward taking unnecessary burden of their shoulders as they fight this disease. All funds will go to the Greenhut family to assist with medical bills, gas to/from treatments, meals as they travel, and other things they might need.
